7/1/2023 0 Comments Game of thrones season4![]() ![]() Unfortunately, he got a little too cocky in the final stages of the fight and ended up getting his own skull smashed in by The Mountain, who used every ounce of energy left for a brutal kill scene before semi-dying himself.Īt the Eyrie, we learn that not only was Littlefinger behind the murder of Joffrey, but that he had a hand in the events that kicked off the entire show. Oberyn, who was in town for the wedding anyway, vowed to get his revenge on The Mountain for murdering his wife and children. Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne (who we loved) decided he would fight to save Tyrion in a trial by combat after he learned that Cersei named The Mountain as her champion. Joffrey’s death may be the most satisfying moment in Thrones history, but the showrunners giveth and the showrunners taketh away. Tywin tells Tommen that wisdom is what makes a good king great. Unfortunately for him, his mother is insane (more on this in the coming seasons). Tommen is a great kid, his cat, Ser Pounce, is adorable and he would make a wonderful king. Tyrion is immediately put in jail for the time being and Tommen is named the new king. She ended up on a ship with him, headed to the Eyrie where her (crazy) Aunt Lysa Arryn lives. Amidst the chaos, Sansa is beckoned by Joffrey’s drunk jester, who was discreetly hired to help her escape by Littlefinger. Tyrion is immediately blamed for the death, not only because Tyrion handed Joffrey the poisoned mug but also because Cersei has hated him every minute of his life. Obviously, this sets off a series of chaotic events in the capital. The camera holds on Joffrey’s dead face for what feels like several minutes, giving us the full satisfaction required for his death. The actual poisoning comes from Olenna, who wins MVP of this season. Thankfully, he dies after being poisoned by the super-secret duo of Olenna Tyrell and Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, who, as we know, loves climbing the ladder of chaos. The phrase “only a mother could love” is very accurate when it comes to describing Joffrey as a king and as a person. ![]() King Joffrey is widely regarded as the biggest P.O.S. ![]() The swords would not remain in either Lannister’s possession for long. The season opens with Tywin Lannister and the most skilled Valyrian sword smith in the Known World, melting down Ned Stark’s greatsword into two Valyrian steel swords: Widow’s Wail for Joffrey and Oathkeeper for Jaime. What happened in Game of Thrones season 4 Some key points will be glanced over in favor of what will come to be important this season. Keep in mind: The following points should serve as reminders as to what happened in the season, but focused in relation to season 8. There were a few moments in season 4 that prompted speculation into what might happen in Game of Thrones’ final season. Three of those four things happened in one episode. King Joffrey was poisoned on his wedding night, Tyrion was wrongfully jailed, a new hero came, fought the mountain, got cocky and died and Sansa Stark finally got the hell out of town. In King’s Landing, things were even more chaotic. After big changes, some stability usually helps, Dany. Daenerys completed her tour of Slaver’s Bay by taking the last of the big three cities, Meereen, but as it turns out, her quick-fix solutions weren’t holding up in the previous two locales and they slipped back into their old ways. Grindy turn-based combat is the name of the game here. You will lose demons and you will often die yourself. In fact, it’s probably best not to get too attached to party members because SMT III is known for its steep difficulty. Sure, in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster you have a party just like in Persona, but instead of getting to know a set character roster through a scripted story, over the course of SMT III you recruit demons that you fight in the world to round out your party, and they’re typically dispensable. Persona games tend have a heavy focus on up-beat teenage stories of a team taking on the world, while the SMT games are typically darker and solitary. ![]() While the Persona series has seen more popularity in the west, the mainline Shin Megami Tensei JRPG series is very similar, yet very different at the same time. It’s not quite as deep as AoE 2 is yet-that game has been out and being tweaked for over 20 years-but Age of Empires IV is nevertheless fun and deep. Each civilization brings its own quirks and advantages to the table, and as always, you can win the game in several different ways, from scoring a religious victory to building and holding a late-game Wonder. Age of Empires IVstays true (almost too true, at times) to the classic formula, offering four campaigns (each with branching civ-specific landmark choices that change your empire’s direction in different ways) and eight different empires to play in skirmish battles or multiplayer clashes. All these years later, Age of Empires II remains a gold standard in the real-time strategy genre, and it’s only getting stronger with the extra attention devoted to the recent Definite Edition release-but that’s not the only way to scratch that AoE itch. ![]() 7/1/2023 0 Comments Pearl harbor movie![]() The 1953 winner of 8 Oscar Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress is a film set on the Attack on Pearl Harbor. ![]() Skillfully, Ford depicts the horror of the naval combats and the hard struggle of the Americans that were abandoned before the Japanese despite their bravery to keep fighting.
